SMIS: TPM Plot Synopsis

Please excuse the spelling! The Republic taxation of trade routes has caused fervor. The greedy Trade Federation has decided to blockade a small planet of Naboo.This plan was made by Darth Sidious, a Sith Lord. He convinced the Trade Federation that this could work but they had to follow his commands. The Federation agreed and blockaded Naboo. While the Republic Senate debated endlessly over what to do, the Supreme Chancellor secretly sends to Jedi to settle the dispute. These two Jedi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi find out that the negotiations were over before they started. The Captian of the Trade Federation Fleet, Nute Gunray, orders a squad of battle droids and destroyer droids to kill the Jedi. The Jedi take them apart then snatch a shuttle down to the planet full of battle droids. Under orders of Darth Sidious, the Trade Federation has begun its occupation of the planet. On the planet, they flee from the transport into the woods. Kenobi takes a hiding spot in the swamp while Jinn hides in the forest. Some STAP's (Single Trooper Arial Transports) find him and chase him through the forest. He stumbles over a strange Gungan alien snacking on clams. Jar Jar Binks tags along behind Jinn against Jinn's better judgement. Kenobi comes in and destroys the pursuing STAP's. Qui-Gon convinces Jar Jar to take the Jedi to his city of Otah Gunga. After swimming for a while they arrive and are taken to Boss Nass, the Chief Gungan. Boss Nass does not want to help the Naboo because "They think they have brains so big" and don't like Gungans. He does however agree to let them take a water craft to get them to Theed, the Naboo capital. But seeing as Binks as exiled for being clumsy and has now broken the "nocomebackie" rule he must be killed. Qui-Gon claims a life debt on him and departs. After being chased by numerous monsters that happen to eat each other, they make it to Theed. The newly elected Queen of Naboo, Amidala, is being forced to sign a treaty. Of course she refuses and her people are imprisoned. The Jedi, and Jar Jar, break them free. They fight their way to the hanger and Queen Amidala, three handmaidens, Captian Panka and some staff, Jar Jar, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi board the Queen's personal transport. An ace fighter pilot, Ric Olé, is Captianeering the ship. The capital ships start shooting at them and they go into a flat spin to throw them off. The cruisers launch fighters wich take out Amidala's shields. Olé launches a bunch of Astromech droids to repair the damage. Through it all they get picked off. Except for one. A blue Astromech intently works through the battle, repairs the shields and comes back in. The Queen Amidala tells one of her handmaidens, Padmé, to clean this special R2-D2 up. Then Ric realises that they won't be able to make very far with a damaged hyperdrive and they settle on Tatoonie for repairs. On Tatoonie, Anakin Skywalker is Podracing. He is in second place to Sebulba, when the latter flashes Skywalker with his port vents and Anakin crashes. When he gets back home his owner, Watto a junk dealer and slave master, is not pleased. He tells Anakin to start cleaning it up right away. Anakin knows that his mood will clear up sooner or later. After all he was the only human with the reflexes to participate in Podracing and he was only nine. The next day Qui-Gon Jinn took Jar Jar Binks and R2 with him into Mos Espa. Amidala told Captain Panka to have them take Padmé with them. Kenobi stayed in the ship. They poked around for awhile and wandered into Watto's shop. He was just in the process of showing them the parts when a young boy walked in, covered in grease, and told Watto of some "damages". When he caught sight of Padmé, he stopped listening to Watto and stared at her. After Watto sent the boy away, he and the foreigners went into the back where all the part were. Qui-Gon offered to pay in Republic credits and Watto refused and Jar Jar looked interested. While they haggled Anakin had appeared and was staring at Padmé again. She walked over, they talked and Anakin promised that he would marry her. Later, after Watto had finally kicked them out until they had something better to offer, Anakin met them and bought them all drinks (he was holding Padmé's hand). They discovered that there was a sandstorm was coming and Anakin invited them to his house insisting that "sandstorms are very, very dangerous". They had dinner, though Anakin's mother Shmi was somewhat surprised, and Anakin showed the group, including Padmé, the protocol droid he had built (whom R2 promptly informed that he was "naked" or without a shell to which he replied "My parts are showing?") and Anakin's own Pod. Both of these were secrets from Watto or he would claim them. Later, Anakin suggested that Jinn coul gamble in the Pod races for the parts of the ship. He said that Qui-Gon could enter his Pod as his own and have Watto let him pilot it. The Jedi agreed. While fixing up the pod Anakin scraped himself. Qui-Gon cleaned it up and sent a blood sample to Obi-Wan for a midi-chlorian count. Midi-chlorians were the living symbionts that formed the link between Jedis and the Force. Obi-Wan said the readings must be wrong for the sample had a very high count for Kenobi said "Not even Yoda has a midi-chlorian count that high". Qui-Gon had known there was something about the boy. The Podrace came, Qui-Gon betted the two slaves against Watto also but Watto said that "No pod is worth two slaves" so he managed to wager the boy. Annie won and he was free and they got the parts. On the way out to the ship, Anakin had chosen to go and be a trained Jedi (plus he'd be with Padmé) after his goodbyes, they were assaulted by a lightsaber wielding tatoo-faced horn-headed alien (wearing black in the Tatooine sun?) and Qui-Gon battled him and told Anakin "Tell them to take off!". Qui-Gon got on just in time and the Sith, Qui-Gon was convinced he was, named Darth Maul grabbed onto the ramp but was thrown off twenty meters up. But they made it alright. They headed for Coruscant, the Republic capital and several things happened. 1) The Republic Senate endlessly debated over helping Naboo 2) Amidala called for a vote of no confidence in the Supreme Chancellor 3) Anakin was interrogated by the Jedi Council to find out whether or not he would be trained. He wouldn't. And 4) Amidala decided to return to Naboo. Qui-Gon was allowed to take the boy seeing as Anakin was technically his charge now but was not allowed to train him. Jinn told him to watch carefully the things he does. They got to Naboo, slipped past the one ship that was controlling the Battle Droids below and landed. They made there way to a Gungan sacred place under the advisory of Qui-Gon and direction of Jar Jar. They convinced the Gungans to help them fight by having Padmé reveal herself as the real Amidala shocking all of them. When the battle took place, the Gungans had a shield so the tanks just rolled up to it and could not break through. The Battle and Destroyer droids however could. They fought for as long as they could, Jar Jar fighting like the General he was just promoted to. But they couldn't hold them off forever. An invasion force was going into Theed while the battle took place. Amidala, Padmé, Kenobi, Jinn plus Panka's crew were there. They fought their way to the throne room, sealed it off through interesting tactics and forced Nute Gunray into talking a treaty. Qui-Gon, Kenobi and Anakin had gotten lost in the docking bay. The Jedi were busy pursuing Darth Maul who had showed up, the others making their way to the throne room and everyone forgot about Annie. Anakin had taken cover in a Naboo fighter and accidentaly saved Padmé/Amidala from Destroyer Droids. R2 helped him. Then Annie put it on autopilot, accidentaly, which took them to space where the battle for the control ship was taking place. He went up and accidentaly, through the Force, blew it to smithereenies. The Gungans liked that. With the offline droids, their job was made easy. Qui-Gon and Kenobi were both fighting Maul when Kenobi tripped of sorts and Jinn had Maul on the run. Then Obi-Wan got caught in a crossfire of automatic lasers and was helpless but to watch the battle. Jinn and Maul were pretty even skillwise. But Maul was better trained and was younger than the aging Qui-Gon. Maul caught him in the side. The auto-lasers stopped and Obi-Wan started furiouly pounding Maul. He got knocked into the melting pit though but managed to hang on. Maul moved in for the kill. Obi-Wan called on all his Jedi power when he calmed down and leaped out of the pit, caught his Master's lightsaber midair and stabbed it through and angry and annoyed Darth Maul's chest. He then rushed over to Jinn who made Kenobi promise to train Anakin then he died. Obi-Wan Kenobi was promoted by the Jedi Council to a full Jedi Knight. As he moved from Padawan (Jedi apprentice) to Jedi he took Anakin as his Padawan. They had a parade and celebration and everyone was happy. "We bombad hero's now Annie!" Jar Jar exclaimed. In another place on the planet, Yoda conferred with Mace Windu. "Always two their are" he said. "Never more, never less. A master and an apprentice". To which Windu replied "Then who do you believe was destroyed, the master or apprentice?".
